Toys
for Tots Race FAQ's
The Toys for
Tots 5K/10K is an extremely popular, hometown race; in the past three years, we have earned nearly $45,000 for the local Toys
for Tots Campaign. In 2010, we were 1300 runners strong and ran out of bibs. What we are not is a big, highly-promoted
race like the Shamrock or Rock-N-Roll series. We do not chip time, we do not have bands, we are not able to shut down area
roads to access the best possible runnings routes. We do put a lot of family, friends, walkers, strollers, and kids
of all ages on a beautiful tree-lined road in an out and back course. The course is crowded; you will have to shuffle
through slower runners and walkers, and you most likely will not PR. The awards will not be announced until 10AM, directly
after the Kids' Dash. If you are expecting any of this, this is not a race for you. What
we do offer is a chance to meet up with local families and friends and get some exercise before you head home to eat your
turkey. We'll get you a great, long-sleeved tshirt (if you register before we run out!) that people fight over every year
and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing your entry fees went to a good cause.

Toys for Tots Race
in the Press! from The Daily Press, 11/28/11
The 13th annual Toys for Tots 5K and 10K turned out to be another record-breaking event on Thanksgiving Day at Mariners Museum
Park.Topping the record list was the $20,000 raised for the local U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign. "That's pretty amazing," said chief race organizer
Laura Cvitanovich of Happy Pace Races. The amount raised was $6,000 more than last year. There
was also a record number of entries, 1,412. That easily topped last year's total of 1,349. "It gets bigger every year,"
Cvitanovich said. "It's become a (Thanksgiving) tradition for a lot of people and such a family event. We had four generations
from one family that came out to walk in it." There were participants from as far away
as England, California and New Hampshire.
