Where is the race held?
The race begins and ends at The Mariners' Museum Park located at the intersection of Warwick Boulevard and Copeland Lane in Newport News. Parking is off Copeland Lane in the parking lots of Warwick High School. After parking, cross Warwick Boulevard to the open field of The Mariners' Museum Park. The registration area will be visible from the road. What time do the races start?
The 5k race starts at 8:30AM and the chute will remain open until 9:45AM. The 10K begins at 10AM.

Can I register on race day morning?
Yes, you may register on race day morning, but t-shirts are only guaranteed to the first 1000 runners. Last year, the race even ran out of bibs. This is an extemely popular race; it's best to pre-register.

Where is packet pickup?
We offer convenient packet pickup dates on Tuesday, November 25 and Wednesday November 26, from 3 - 6:30PM at The Sentara Center for Health and Fitness, 4001 Coliseum Drive, Hampton, VA 23666. Limited packet pickup is available on race day. However, race day morning is extemely hectic; by using early packet pickup, you bypass the race day lines.

What is the Race Route?
The route for both races is an out and back course over paved roads. The 5K route runs along a perimeter road on the edge of The Mariner's Museum property, onto Museum Drive, across Lion's Bridge and then turns around just inside the east gates of the Museum. The 10K route runs the same route but continues through the Museum property, out the West gates and around the loop of the Lakeside neighorhood. It returns along the same course through the Museum property. There are some hills. The route is mostly free of traffic.

Are there mile markers? Yes, there will be markers at each mile for both races.

Are there awards?
Yes, there are awards for the top three male and female finishers in each race. Additionally, there are awards for the top three runners in each age group. Age groups are: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Children completing the Marine Corps Dash will all receive a medal.

Awards will be announced as soon as possible following each race. Runners must be present to receive awards. If you are unable to stay to receive your award, please contact the race director. Sorry, due to shipping costs, we are unable to mail any uncollected awards without prepayment.

Scoring: Scoring is provided by the Peninsula Track Club. Results will be posted on this site as soon as they are made available.
